VinFast, a trailblazer in electric vehicles, has made a bold entry into the pickup truck market with the debut of its VF Wild at CES 2024. This mid-size electric pickup is a fusion of innovative design and eco-conscious engineering, setting a new standard in the EV arena.
VinFast VF Wild: A Design Marvel
Collaborating with Australian design studio GoMotiv, VinFast has dedicated over 8,000 hours to craft the VF Wild’s “Fluid Dynamism” aesthetic, drawing inspiration from the graceful flow of a superhero’s cape. The VF Wild embodies the brand’s commitment to pushing boundaries, with a focus on sustainability and performance.

Innovative Features of the VF Wild
With dimensions of 209 inches in length and 79 inches in width, the VF Wild offers an efficient mid-size footprint. Its standout feature is the power-folding mid-gate, expanding the bed from 5 to 8 feet, leading its segment in versatility. Additional features like a panoramic glass roof and digital side mirrors enhance its aerodynamics.
VinFast’s Aspirations in the Electric Pickup Market
Ms. Tran Mai Hoa, Deputy CEO of VinFast, emphasizes the VF Wild as a symbol of the company’s ambition in the thriving electric pickup truck market. This vehicle not only expands VinFast’s portfolio but also represents their mission to make sustainable, high-quality EVs more accessible.

VinFast’s Global Footprint
Established in 2017, VinFast’s manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, is a testament to modern automation. The upcoming EV factory in North Carolina marks their first foray into the U.S. market, with a production target of 150,000 vehicles annually starting in 2025.
The Bottom Line
The VF Wild is set to rival established players like the Fisker Alaska and Rivian R1T in the all-electric pickup segment. Details are sparse, but its impact on the market is eagerly anticipated.
